SEEKING STORAGE BINS

The museum is collecting donations for the purchase of storage bins. We are seeking storage bins as part of the museums effort to curate and store specimens. Should you wish to make a cash contribution to the museum for storage bins, please mail to the museum and mark lab donation. Should you prefer to donate storage bins, please only donate storage bins in good or excelent condition and be sure they meet the following specifications

  • Bins must be heavy duty plastic with a snap on sealable lid or an open enter-locking lid.

  • Bins may be square or rectangular.

  • Bins should be stackable.

  • Bins may be any size from one quart to twenty five gallons.

VOLUNTEERS

The museum has hours of restoration work yet to be tackled. If you have taken the Paleoworkshop class we'd love to see you. Cleaning and restoring fossils is a great way to learn the anatomy of the marine animals we work on every day, and get more involved with other volunteers and activities at the museum. We can't do it without you.

SUGGESTIONS ANYONE?

Your Museum wants to hear from you! We have grown to have more than 300 members and our displays and programs, which you have put together, are something to be proud of.

However, we are constantly seeking new ways to improve the museum. We must particularly pursue exhibits that are of interest to the community.

We value your opinion and would like to ask: What are we doing well? What needs improvement? What new ideas do you have?

Please comment on these things:

  • The facility including gift shop & restoration lab
  • Exhibits
  • Programs & educational efforts
  • Fundraising
  • Publicity & communications
  • Any additional areas or issues

You're thoughts regarding these areas will be appreciated and may become mechanisms for change!

Please provide us with your suggestions as follows:

  • Drop your comments into our new, permanent "Suggestion Box" located at the front desk.
  • Write the museum directly. Our mailing address is listed below.

Suggestions may include your name, or may be written anonymously.

Thank you for your continued support! Our mailing address: BVMNH 2018 Chester Ave. Bakersfield, CA 93301
