OPEN  Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 10am -4pm and Sundays 12-4pm (Sunday hours subject to change please call ahead) 

 AUGUST SPECIAL:  ALL SUNDAYS during the month of AUGUST  The Museum will admit two persons for the price of one admission.

FALL 2014 Events!  Look what’s happening!
SEPTEMBER
Sept 6th Just for kids! 10:30 AM   Astronomy with Dr.Stephen Collett.  Children will have the opportunity to build a Sky Globe.  A paper-craft project consisting of a  sky globe showing the locations of the constellations, stars, star clusters, and our milky way galaxy.
Sept 13th 7pm Weird Science for Adults only!  A night filled with Wild and Wacky  SCIENCE Demonstrations!
Sept 18th FREE DAY  Third Thursday of each month is FREE admission for all ages from 10am -3pm
September 20, 3:00 PM “Sharktooth Hill- A Kern County Fossil Treasure” with Geologist Tim Elam
OCTOBER
Paleo Dig Oct 3rd, 4th
and 5thWould you like to be a paleontologist for a day? Do you like a treasure hunt? Would you like to find shark teeth and other marine mammal fossils? Join the museum field guides on this adventure

Oct 4th Just for kids   TBA
October 4, 3:00 PM  “Earthquakes in Kern County” with Geologist Tim Elam
Oct 12th 13th Peddlers Faire  http://www.oldtimepeddlersfaire.com  this event is held at Kern county Museum stop by and check out the Museum’s both.
Oct 16th, 17th and 18th  Night at the Museum! Thursday October16th, Friday 17th and Saturday18th  Tours start at 6:30 run every 20 minutes through 9:30 RECERVATIONS REQUIRED.  
OCTOBER 25th Marty Stuart Concert: Announcing Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives October 25!  This concert is benefiting the Museum.   Tickets are available Vallitix 661-322 5200 or 888-825-5484

Fossil Digs!

Would you like to dig fossils?  Then Join the museum team on a Paleontological Dig this fall,  at the Quarries near Sharktooth hill. Choose a one day, two or a three day Dig. Half day options available too. 

All attendees must be BVMNH members and at least 12 yrs of age at time of dig. To reserve a space call 661-324-6350 or email buenavistamuseum@gmail.com
